I struggled so much with what to name this cake. Some would call it a Peach Dump Cake. Especially here in the South. Maybe even a Peach Cobbler of sorts. In the end, call it what you want, but it's buttery and peachy and all kinds of delicious!
This time of year I feel like life slows down a little bit. The cooler weather. A fire in the fireplace. Curling up with a good book and warm dessert... it's just my favorite! And this dessert fits in that cozy little scene perfectly!
But also... who wants to spend an hour in the kitchen baking that warm dessert? Not me.
So this is one of those cakes you can put together in 5 minutes flat. It only has a few ingredients and it takes no special culinary skills whatsoever. Is that the best or what?
Pour all ingredients in a dish, bake, serve and enjoy! It's really that simple.
When I first planned this dessert, I was going to do a Caramel Apple Cake. But I wanted something a little different. I love a dessert that screams old fashioned Southern comfort food... so I settled on peaches. And Luck's Fried Peaches to be exact.
Ohmygosh ya'll. Speaking of the peaches. Luck's Fried Peaches are a quintessential Southern dish ingredient. This brand has such high standards, delivering premium quality fried peaches since 1947.
One more thing... taking from my initial idea, I couldn't quit on the caramel. I've never had a combination of peaches and caramel, but let me tell you, I'm so glad I decided to give it a try! This might be my new most favorite Fall dessert.
Bring this Easy Caramel Peach Cake to a big family get-together or a church potluck. Or serve it after supper with a scoop of ice cream and some extra caramel.
So let's talk about this recipe.
Here's what you'll need:
- 2 cans Luck's Fried Peaches or Luck's Fried Peaches with Cinnamon (I used the plain ones)
- ½ cup caramel sauce
- 1 (15.25 oz) Yellow Cake Mix
- ¾ cup salted butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Preheat your oven to 350°F and grab a 9" x 13" baking dish.
Then layer the ingredients one on top of the other. First the peaches (juice and all). Then drizzle with caramel. Next sprinkle and spread the cake mix over the top evenly. Then add pats of butter all over. And last - sprinkle with cinnamon (maybe a little more evenly than I did 😉 ).
Then bake the cake for 50 minutes. Once it's done, let it cool a little, then serve... preferably with scoop of vanilla ice cream and some extra caramel for good measure.

Can I make this caramel peach cake in my cock pot?

Luck's Fried Peaches aren't available anymore. Any suggestions for substitutes?
Rose
Awww, darn! You could just use regular canned peaches and it would be very similar!
