Ingredients

The ingredients for this Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats Recipe are very simple. Most are already in your pantry!

Butter – I always buy salted butter but unsalted would work just as well.

Mini MarshmallowsMini marshmallows melt so much easier but you could certainly use regular marshmallows if you want. Just use an equal amount (by weight).

Pumpkin Puree – this is 100% pumpkin – not pumpkin pie filling. Be sure to get the right stuff!

Pumpkin Pie Spice – you can use store-bought or make your own – I have a recipe here for Pumpkin Pie Spice.

Vanilla Extract – this is another thing you can buy store-bought or make your own. Homemade vanilla extract is amazing!

Crispy Rice Cereal – Of course, Kellogg’s Rice Krispies are popular, but I usually get the Malt-O-Meal Crispy Rice Cereal and can’t tell the difference.

How to Make Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats

  1. Combine butter, marshmallows, pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla in a heavy-bottomed, large pot, and heat over low-medium heat, stirring, until marshmallows are melted.

TIP: Alternatively, you can make these Pumpkin Pie Rice Krispie Treats using a microwave method. Use the ingredients as listed here but follow these insructions for melting.

  1. Next, add crispy rice cereal and stir until fully combined.
