Galentine’s Charcuterie Board

My daughter has been hosting a Galentine Party for the past few years on February 13th and it’s one of her favorite things to do with her best girlfriends. They always have so much fun!

Usually, they each bring something yummy to munch on – some savory appetizers and some sweet treats. This year I thought it would be fun if she did a Galentine’s Day Charcuterie board. The temptation was to do a candy board or a dessert charcuterie board because it was Valentine’s… but since I figured the girls would probably already have their fill of chocolate, I’d go with mostly savory treats, fresh fruits, and a more traditional charcuterie.

Valentine’s Day Charcuterie Board

The difference between a good charcuterie board and a great charcuterie board is its presentation and variety.

For this Valentine’s Charcuterie board, including the pepperoni roses really adds an extra special touch to the board – making it pretty and fancy without a ton of extra work. You don’t need to do a lot of extra prep for themed boards – just one or two special touches is the perfect way to elevate the design.

I love to include red fruit (strawberries and/or raspberries) to add color to the board. And for Valentine Charcuterie Boards, including pepperoni roses is a delightful way to make your board stand out.

Tools Needed

  • Charcuterie Board – depending on the number of friends you’ll be entertaining, you could go with a smaller board (maybe a little bigger than a cheese board). or if you’re having several friends at your home, you could go with a big board. Another fun idea is to use a heart-shaped board
  • Small Cup or Glass
  • Sharp Knife
  • Heart Cookie Cutter

How to Make a Galentine’s Charcuterie Board

The great thing about charcuterie boards is they usually don’t require any cooking. After shopping for your ingredients, it’ll only take about 15 minutes for the whole process and it’ll be ready to serve at your Galentines party! Also, there’s really not a “wrong way” to put your board together, but I’m laying out some instructions that I hope will inspire you. You can add in your own board ideas to make it unique!

  1. Prepare the cheeses for placement on your serving board. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to slice the Munster into heart-shaped slices.
  2. Place the cheeses on the board in random spots, leaving a little bit of space for other ingredients.
  3. Crumble portions of the cranberry Stilton cheese. Sprinkle chopped walnuts over the Brie wedge and then drizzle with honey.
  4. Fold the slices of salami in half and stick a toothpick in it. Fill each toothpick with 3-4 slices and place them in a spot.
  5. Add one or more pepperoni roses to your board (see instructions below!)
  6. Cut the strawberries in half, and twist so that some form a heart-like image. Place on the board
  7. Slice the apples into thin slices and place on the board.
  8. Add the crackers to start filling in the board. Remember to try and keep like things separate.
  9. Add the remaining ingredients and smaller items in bowls throughout the board filling in the empty spaces and keeping like foods separate as possible.
  10. Finish by adding any decorative garnishes.
  11. Serve and enjoy!
