I have to tell you – I can’t take credit for this new recipe. This Fruit Salsa with Fresh Whipped Cream recipe was all my husband’s idea. I was on my way to the store when I called Richy and asked him what we could make for dessert – something new that would work for a summer cookout.
For the past few weeks, he’s been making a lot of fresh salsa out of our garden (it’s ah-mazing), so he had the idea to switch it up and make fresh fruit salsa instead. We both named off a few different fruits for me to add to my grocery list and voila – this light, refreshing, easy dessert was born!
Our tiny hometown grocery store doesn’t always have a huge variety of fresh fruit so I had to go with what was available. We ended up with apples (two kinds), peaches, strawberries, and blueberries.
The beautiful thing about this recipe is you can change up the fruit based on what’s in season or available where you live. I would’ve loved to maybe add a kiwi, some grapes, and maybe raspberries had there been any available. Continue Reading ▶
